His adventure begins when a harpy kills his mother. Suddenly, the youngster must learn to survive on his own. In his group, squirrel monkeys live together with capuchin monkeys almost twice their size. This is typical in the Guyanas. They spend most of their time searching for insects and small vertebrates. Along the way, they snack on flowers and fruits. This is how George gets to know spider monkeys, howler monkeys and saki monkeys and discovers the world in the canopies of the trees. One day a jaguar kills one of the capuchin monkeys. In panic, the others flee high into the trees. George has injured his hand and must watch as his group disappears into the distance. As night falls, hr crouches on a branch, afraid and lonely. The night in the rainforest is not for sleeping. Kinkajous, anteaters, and boas are all around George. Will he ever find a group to stay with?
