      50军前身是原国民党军第60军，为滇军部队，在辽沈战役中于长春起义。1949年全军整编后，这支部队被改编为第四野战军第50军，军长为原60军军长曾泽生。50军成立后，按照人民解放军的建军原则，部队进行了政治整训，又补入了许多解放军军官和战斗骨干，全军整体素质得到了很大提高。
